In the Room
nice room, good breakfast selection.nice staff serving breakfast.would stay again as great value
only one thing, the curtains in the room did nothing to darken it and it kept us awake from 6am as too light to sleep.not good when you have a 4yrs old with you.
Room and facilities good.
Huge land-fill rubbiush tip close to entrance
stayed over for early flight next morning-wonderful early breakfast before taxi arrived. Had dinner-quality of food and service excellent
Good standard of accommodation, good evening meal and good breakfast.
Clean spacious rooms. Finishing touches in the room, fruit and bottled water were a lovely thought. Nice contempory finish to the hotel.
Was pleased with hotel, thought it was bigger than I had imagined. Nice rooms, reminded me of a posh travel inn! Food was good as well.
Unfortunately we couldnt get a booking for their "early bird" meal at night as it was so busy and it did look great value, but in comparison thought food a bit pricey as well as wine, didnt think it would be £6.30 a glass!, So although we got good price for accomodation, meal turned out to be a bit pricey. We cannot win!
Very convenient to Troon for ferry service to Ireland. Also convenient for Prestwick Airport.
On the approach to the hotel you have to drive past a landfill site. This is unfortunate because the hotel is very comfortable and the staff very helpful.
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Gailes Hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms were spacious and clean and the view over the golf course was fantastic. Would have no hesitation on recommending to family and friends and if the occassion arose would stay again.
The bedroom was lovely
"Scottish Breakfast" was short of potato scone which means it isnt a Scottish Breakfast. The poor explanation of "our delivery didn't come in" is not acceptable for a 4 star establishment. The lack of an offer of another item other than a hash brown is very poor. I attended a wedding function which was great however the banqueting staff were not trained. Some served from the left and removed from the left. some served from both directions. Not a 4 star dining experience,
Everything in the hotel was "fine". Met at reception by a very pleasant man, who answered any questions about the hotel. The room was spacious, and clean, although as we were attending a wedding in the hotel, didn't really spend much time in it. Always a pleasant smile or "good morning" from the housekeeping staff which costs nothing. The catering / function staff were generally polite & civil. The food was generally good, although the breakfast was a bit uninspiring & not worth £10 a head although this was included in my rate. Generally - a pleasant stay & couldn't fault much.
There was a sign omn the reception desk apologising for a shortage of tv channels in the rooms. This is "due to the digital switchover." The only channels available were bbc1 + bbc2. As the "digital switchover" has been knowledge for some time now, I felt it was poor in 2011. The price of drinks in the bar was horrendous & actually spoilt an otherwise pleasant stay. (£3.80 for an average branded beer, & wasn't even a great pour.)
Friendly and helpful Reception. Speedy access. Room well appointed and spotless. Fresh fruit and bottled water on arrival. Excellent choice at breakfast and helpful/courteous staff. Good value for money. Travelled on to inferior hotel in Edinburgh (large chain of hotels) which cost nearly twice as much.
No adverse comment
very friendly and helpful staff. Clean comfortable room .Represented excellent value for money as a base in the area for golf etc
We just stayed for one night on our way to the Ferryport. We found the Hotel to be very relaxing, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. If the opportunity arose we would certainly go back and will recommend it to our frineds
Very comfortable - excellent friendly staff - great service - will be coming back with friends and will be recommending all to come along.
the hotel was very clean, had everything you needed. the staff were very friendly, nothing was too much effort for them. the food was very good and not too expensive. i would definitley recommend this hotel to friends and family. very relaxing for us, but plenty of places to visit nearby if you want to be on the move.
i rang to confirm our booking at the hotel on the day we were travelling, and the hotel had recieved our booking, but had not made the reservation, luckily they still had a room available for our stay..... i would not have wanted to arrive there after travelling all that way and not had somewhere to stay!!!
